Police in Konoin area, Bomet county, are investigating an incident in which the decomposing body of a woman was found covered with a blanket inside her house.
The deceased was identified as Faith Kerubo who worked as a casual labourer at a tea farm in the area.
According to the police, the body was discovered by a neighbour who had gone to the woman's house to borrow some food items.
“The neighbour knocked and called at the door, but there was no response, prompting her to enter the house only to find the deceased lying on her side, and covered with a blanket and in a decaying state,” said the police from Konoin.
The body, fully dressed in a black skirt and white blouse, reportedly had visible bruises.
The cause of her death has not yet been established, but the police are treating it as a suspected case of murder.
The body was taken to Kapkatet Sub County Hospital mortuary for preservation, and autopsy as police begin their investigation
